         Features of fitness in                            Germany

Sitting at a computer instead of a walk, a car instead of a bicycle - more than half of Germans lead a sedentary lifestyle. How is the fitness industry responding to this?

A car instead of a bicycle, sitting in front of the TV or at a computer instead of jogging or walking - the Germans move less and less and do little sports. According to a study commissioned by the health insurance company DKV, only 43% of people in Germany are sufficiently physically active in their daily lives. In 2010, the proportion of those was 60 percent.

Only 9 percent of Germans lead a truly healthy lifestyle - they move enough, do not smoke, eat right, consume little alcohol, and use adequate stress-relieving methods. In 2010, the proportion of those in Germany was 14 percent.

The Just Fit network has 23 modernly equipped fitness clubs in Cologne, Düsseldorf, Mönchengladbach and their surroundings, and the InterFit platform unites 1,800 sports centers of various types throughout Germany. The possibilities here are for every taste and budget: for sports fans there is an economy class center, a center for the whole family, and a premium center with saunas and swimming pools. The cheapest season ticket costs 19.90 euros per month, and the most expensive one is 110 euros. In total, 80 thousand people are now among the clients of the "Boehme empire". The percentage of women and men is about 50-50. The youngest amateur athlete is 12 years old, and the oldest… 94 years old.

"This is a resident of Mönchengladbach. When she came to us, she could not move without the help of a rollator. She was also always accompanied by a nurse. And today this lady comes to trainings on her own - without a rollator and without an accompanying person. It took her only six months to achieve this. ", says Frank Boehme.

According to Boehme, the average customer has been using his fitness network for at least 4.5 years. This is considered a good indicator. How do Just Fit and InterFit keep visitors? We attach great importance to customer interaction. Each newcomer is consulted in detail. The coach draws up a training plan for him. 4-6 weeks later, changes are made to the plan, and then every 5-6 months a new training program is drawn up. Doctors also work in a number of our centers. There is no such thing in discounter clubs. There the client is on his own.
A lot is being done for employees as well. We adequately pay for their work, provide them with social protection, and regularly send them to refresher courses. In such conditions, the guys always try to work well with clients.

The services of personal trainers who work with the client for a fee and guarantee the result are in great demand in Germany. According to the results of one of the studies, 64 percent of Germans express readiness to train at least several times under the guidance of a personal instructor, and among sports fans aged 16 to 29, even 82.4 percent. Another question is that not everyone can afford it: the cost of one hour of training with a personal trainer ranges from 60 to 110 euros.
